Abstract:
Using regional average and inverse distance square methods, we interpolated Cloud-Total-Amount (CTA) and Cloud-Fraction-Rate (CFR) data provided by FY-2G satellite from July 2015 to June 2016 to 34 meteorological stations with cloud observations in Hunan Province. We then revised CTA data by using moving regression correction method, and performed an analysis of the overall consistency of the two products and the consistency under different cloud conditions. The results indicate that the consistent rate of CFR data and revised CTA data in Hunan are 74.4% and 74.8%, respectively. There is a high consistency of CFR in the conditions of sunny and cloudy, while the consistency is only 22% under the conditions of overcast. Consistent rate of revised CTA data is higher than CFR under conditions of overcast and cloudy, and it can be increased by using selective correction method under the condition of sunny. It is more appropriate to use the revised CTA data as a supplement or substitute for surface cloud observations in Hunan Province.
