Rainstorm waterlogging research on numerical simulation for short-duration in the urban area of Wuhan

  • Based on 2D hydrodynamic rainstorm drowned GIS model, the 6 historical return periods short-duration rainstorm waterlogging processes in the urban area of Wuhan were simulated with consideration of being gotten rid of pump drainage by drainage net system. The 6 rainstorm waterlogging charts were drawn using MapGIS, and the characteristics of rainstorm waterlogging were analyzed. The result of simulation was verified by practical waterlogging data collected in recent years in Wuhan. The result of verification shows that the simulation was reliable. Moreover, the waterlogging processes for some typical short-time rainstorm intensity used in operations were simulated. The results can be used in urban rainstorm waterlogging forecasting and warning, and waterlogging risk assessment and preventing against waterlogging. The technology can also be applied to other cities.
