Main Advances in the Research of“Yaan Sky Leakage”

  • Inview of the well-known phenomenon “Yaan sky leakage ”at the eastern side of Tibetan Plateau,the main advances during the last more than 40 years in the weather and climate research of“Yaan sky leakage ”are summarized.Based on the analysis for the previous researches, the 6 scientific questions of “Yaan sky leakage ” are presented from the aspects of general characteristics,complex topography,thermal regime and boundary layer structure, formation mechanism,weather-climate relations and the responses of regional climate.Furthermore,it is pointed out that comprehensive observation,scientific experiment,observation study,theoretical analysis and prediction technique are the key fields of the future research for “Yaan sky leakage ”.
